Sid Hille
To Be Frank (1997)

At the time of recording this second album, Hille had already moved to Finland.
With the same team of brilliant musicians on board (Burks, Van de Geyn and Ceccarelli) Hille is embarking on a search for a more personal sound.
Pairing beautiful jazz ballads with contemporary up-tempo compositions and ethnic grooves, this recording is a quest into fresh territory.
A touch of northern influence can already be distinguished in pieces like ‘Petals’, which was to become one of Hille’s and the Platypus Ensemble’s trademark tunes in concerts of the 2000’s
